Something not working as it should, or a dhikr you would like counted? Write to razamudassar867@gmail.com and you will hear back. Your phone’s model and what you were counting help.
I cannot hear the beads
Sound is off until you switch it on, at the foot of the screen. Once it is on, the beads are heard even with the phone on silent, at the volume the side buttons set, and they mix with anything else that is playing.
I cannot feel the beads
Haptics is the switch beside Sound. On Android, Daana taps the hand even when the phone’s own touch feedback is turned off; its own switch is the one that decides.
Will I lose my count?
No. The count is kept on your phone between launches, and each dhikr keeps its own place, so you can move between them and come back to where you were. Reset asks twice, and clears only the dhikr you are counting.
How do I take a bead back?
Push the last bead slowly back up across the gap. A quick flick upward is ignored, so a count is never lost to a stray thumb.
Why did my count begin again?
Astaghfirullah and Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi are said a hundred times a day, so each begins afresh on a new day, from your phone’s midnight. The tasbih after prayer begins a fresh set once a set is complete. The others carry on in rounds of a hundred.
Can I use Daana with VoiceOver or TalkBack?
Yes. The strand is one control: swipe up to count a bead, and down to take one back. The count and the phrase are read out.
Is there an iPad version?
Daana is made to be held in one hand. On an iPad it opens in an iPhone-sized window.
Is it really free?
Yes, and it will stay so. Daana is made as sadaqa jariyah: there are no ads, no purchases, no subscriptions and no accounts. If it helps you, pass it on, and keep the ones who made it in your duas.
